Basics of regulation of privacy protection and personal data protection

10 lessons. The lesson is 45 min. The module is divided into 2 parts with time allowance 5 teaching hours for each part of the module. 

Module 3 provides an introduction to the issue of privacy and personal data protection, highlighting the main regulatory approaches and practical challenges in this area. Participants will become familiar with the right to privacy and the right to protect personal data as fundamental rights, and their overlap in relation to security requirements. The basic elements of personal data protection legislation in the European Union and the Slovak Republic will be presented within the module. Particular attention will be paid to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including its scope, basic processing principles, security and liability requirements, as well as cross-border transfer rules and the role of supervisory authorities.  

Modul v sebe zahŕňa aj rôzne cvičenia, prípadové štúdie pre účastníkov, ktoré im pomôžu prepojiť teoretické poznatky s praktickými zručnosťami. Modul sa uskutoční prezenčne a/alebo v rámci virtuálnej miestnosti (MS TEAMS), kde bude zachovaný reálny čas interakcie a možnosť okamžitých otázok, diskusií a spolupráce medzi účastníkmi.  Vzdelávanie v rámci modulu bude rozdelené na 2 časti s časovou dotáciu 5 vyučovacích hodín pre každú časť modulu.

• Právo na súkromie a právo na ochranu osobných údajov 

• Regulácie ochrany osobných údajov na úrovni Európy a Európskej únie 

• Úvod do GDPR, štruktúra, interpretácia a vzťah s príslušnou slovenskou legislatívou 

• Osobná, miestna a osobná pôsobnosť GDPR (základné pojmy nariadenie – osobný údaj, spracúvanie a informačný systém) 

• Základné zásady spracúvania osobných údajov I (zákonnosť a vymedzenie účelu) 

Part 2 

• Basic principles of personal data processing II (other processing principles) 

• Management of the rights of affected persons 

• Security in the processing of personal data, 

• Responsibility for processing personal data 

• Cross-border transfers of personal data 

• Activity of supervisory authorities in the area of personal data protection.
