The main goal of the CUSEC 2026 conference is to support professional dialogue between academic experts, public administration representatives, regulators and practitioners in the field of cybersecurity, privacy protection and cybercrime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference provides a platform for sharing experiences and the latest trends in the legal implementation of European and national regulations, with a particular focus on the NIS2 Directive and other regulatory measures that affect the functioning of the digital environment. In addition, the conference allows for a discussion of the practical challenges associated with securing digital evidence and its use in criminal proceedings, while emphasizing the balance between technological and legal aspects. One year after the major amendment to the Cybersecurity Act<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A year after the amendment to the Cybersecurity Act transposing the NIS2 Directive came into effect, a number of new entities have joined Slovakia and are currently in the process of implementing the new requirements. The panel will focus on the new requirements of the Act as well as new implementing regulations in the area of \u200b\u200bsecurity measures and reporting incidents and other security events. We will find out the first experiences from the perspective of the regulator as well as regulated entities. We will also open the issue of audits. Finally, we will look ahead to what regulated entities should focus on in the near future, not only from the perspective of the Cybersecurity Act or the Critical Infrastructure Act, but also other, primarily EU, legal regulations, and what trends can be expected in supervision practice.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

From digital footprint to electronic evidence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Under what conditions can a digital trace be secured? What must be observed in order for a digital trace to become evidence? The panel discussion will attempt to answer questions related to the standards for securing electronic traces, what chain of custody means and why this concept is important. The panel discussion guests cover the widest spectrum of parties and subjects of criminal proceedings with their expertise in order to provide a comprehensive picture of the applicability of electronic evidence in criminal proceedings.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The workshop \"The Cybersecurity Maze: Legal Design as a Compass\" represents a unique opportunity for participants who want to navigate the complex and ever-changing digital environment. In an era where legal and technological aspects are intertwined more than ever before, it is essential to navigate the intricate legal framework surrounding cybersecurity.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The workshop is also thematically intended for the general public, where participants will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about the uniqueness of legal design in the context of cybersecurity. The workshop focuses on practical applications of legal design in the field of cybersecurity. Participants will have the opportunity to explore how legal design can help create more understandable and effective legal documents, processes and strategies that are essential for protecting data and systems in the digital environment.<\/span><\/h4>\n

1. MODULE
<\/span>Protection of personal data in cyberspace<\/span><\/h4>\n

The module provides a basic legal and practical framework for the protection of personal data in the digital environment. Students will be introduced to basic concepts such as \u201cpersonal data\u201d, \u201cdata subject consent\u201d and \u201ccontroller responsibility\u201d, and to the basics of national legislation and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The module aims to strengthen students\u2019 ability to identify risky behaviour when sharing data online, understand the consequences of making it available to unauthorised persons and adopt the principles of safe and responsible handling of digital identity. The module will be delivered in an interactive format that combines expert lectures with discussion, analysis of case studies and the involvement of secondary school students in practical activities appropriate to their age and experience.<\/h4>\n

2. MODULE
<\/span>Effective defense against cyber hybrid threats<\/span><\/h4>\n

The module is dedicated to the analysis of current forms of hybrid threats in cyberspace, which are aimed at young users - mainly in the form of disinformation campaigns, manipulation of public opinion and abuse of social networks. Students will learn to recognize various types of false or manipulative content (e.g. fake news, deepfake), acquire the basics of media literacy and critical thinking and acquire tools for verifying the veracity of information. The module connects the legal, social science and technical dimensions of this issue, thus creating a comprehensive basis for active digital resilience. The module will be conducted in an interactive format that combines expert explanation with discussion, analysis of case studies and involvement of high school students in practical activities appropriate to their age and experience.<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
